GPS Module. A real breakthrogh in data analysis

We often think that GPS modules are useful for map-tracking purposes only but the GPS can be used to acquire much more important data: from brakes analisys to chassis info and, obviously, driver's behaviour while on track.

GPS module connected to MyChron4 allows you to monitor your position and speed at any point of the track. This enables you to analyze your performance and understand your mistakes (the figure on the left clearly displays a mistake in a corner due to understeering): a huge amount of data, quite important to improve your driving skills and to fine tune your kart. And, last but not least, you can review your driving performance through real images, exporting all these data into Google Earth ®!

To ensure proper function of your GPS module on your kart, install the GPS receiver (not the antenna) directly to the floorpan, using a self locking nut and a fastening bolt as shown in the picture. Fasten the GPS module to the floorpan using a self locking nut and a fastening bolt. For optimal satellite reception, the GPS antenna must be mounted parallel to the ground. We suggest you to place it on the kart's front fairing (as shown in the picture).   The GPS antenna has a magnetic base, however because the typical front fairing is made of plastic, it is not a suitable base. For antenna installation, please use a industrial dual sided plastic tape or a hook and loop fastner as Velcro®.   The antenna cable must pass on the kart's front fairing, sliding through the fairing brackets to the GPS module (that should be fastened to the floorpan).
